Permitted Pets:

Small dogs, cats, and birds are authorized on domestic flights within Canada, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, and the United States (except Hawaii). No canines are authorized in the Business Class, First Class, or Business Elite cabins of international flights. This condition may also apply to certain residential excursions.

Age:

All creatures must be at least 10 weeks old in order to be accepted for travel within the United States. For international travel to the United States, the companion must be at least four months old. In addition, canines must be at least 15 weeks old for travel into the European Union.

Confirmed Courses:

On the courses in Dakar, Hawaii, Dubai, Australia, Hong Kong, Barbados, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Jamaica, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, New Zealand, and Iceland, dogs are not allowed in the lodge.

Only animals that help people are allowed in the lodge on flights to or from Hong Kong, the UK, and South Africa.

Cabin Size/Dimensions Requirement

The size and measurements of the pet carrier are needed in a hotel room depending on the flight. The refund is for one pet per traveler unless the traveler is bringing a dog or cat’s mother along with the dogs or cats. Travelers can bring along two pets in a pen as long as they are the same type, the same size, and are at least 10 weeks or half a year old. The pet carrier must have enough room for both pets to fit and move around without hitting their heads on the top. The pet carrier with two pets will only be charged for one.

Delta Airlines Service and Emotional Support Animals:

Travelers with disabilities can bring their service animals on Delta planes for free. If you want to bring along service animals, you must let the airline know at least 48 hours before your first trip. According to the Air Carrier Access Act, Delta Airlines lets its customers travel with their emotional support animals (ESA) and mental assistance animals (MAA) in the cabin without any restrictions.
As of December 18, 2018, Delta planes won’t let dogs or cats less than 4 months old serve as service or emotional support animals.
Before they fly, travelers need to show the following documents and forms: veterinary health and vaccine approvals, authorization letters from a mental health expert or a licensed specialist, and preparing certification.

Animals Accepted:

Only Delta Cargo flights can take animals that are still alive.
Cats, dogs, live fish, ferrets, and insects are among the animals that can be brought to the United Kingdom. We won’t take any other animals.
Non-human primates will only be allowed to be moved between rehabilitation centers, animal parks, and zoological groups and clubs. It is illegal to ship between private parties. Non-human monkeys that can join should be at least 2 years old and fully fed.
Animals that act aggressively or in a dangerous way might not be allowed to travel.
Delta Cargo does not allow the following animals to be shipped:
- Elephants, leopards, lions, rhinos, and buffalo hunting trophies.
- Cats and dogs for research purposes.
DASH and DASH critical animals will not be accepted.

Age Requirements

Both dogs and cats must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned.
Shipments of pets within the U.S. can be made 14 days to 24 hours before they leave.
There’s no promise that the pet will be sent on the same trip as the person.
Delta Cargo won’t take warm-blooded animals on trips that take more than 12 hours on average, and packages won’t be accepted for more than 2 flight segments. There must be at least two hours between planes that link.
You have to leave your pet at one of these Delta Cargo locations:
- Check-in closes 2 hours before a local trip leaves, so you should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours early.
- For overseas flights, at least 5 hours before departure, since check-in shuts 4 hours before departure.
Picking up the pet will happen at a Delta Cargo site.
Brachycephalic dogs, cats, and crosses will not be allowed.
The owner must get a Health Certificate from a qualified, USDA-accredited vet within 10 days of the trip date. Electronic health certificates signed digitally will be accepted.
