Air New Zealand provides several check-in methods for you:

Online Check-In:

To check-in online for your Air New Zealand flight, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Airnewzealand.com
  2. Click on the Check-in Tab
  3. To Login Enter Necessary Details
  4. Click on the Continue Button
  5. Select Passengers Who Will Be Checking in
  6. Select Seats
  7. Pay Any Upgrade Fees
  8. Complete Your Check-in

Exceptions ( Online Check-In):

  • You have booked for more than 9 passengers.
  • You have a paper ticket in your hand.
  • You have multiple bookings for different cities in your itinerary.
  • Manual documentation checking is necessary due to border restrictions.
  • You cannot use home-printed boarding passes at certain airports like Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali and Changi International Airport in Singapore.
  • To catch your flight from Niue, make sure to check in at the airport at least 2 hours before departure.
  • You require special help.
  • You are a child traveling alone without any adult supervision.
  • You need to make sure you have all the necessary documents for your entry and transit. These include your visa, passport, ESTA, COVID test/vaccination documentation, and proof of onward travel.

Mobile Check-In:

You can use Air New Zealand’s mobile app to check in starting 24 hours before your flight.

  • Domestic flights leave 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
  • For international trips, you need to be at the airport 90 minutes before takeoff, but you need to be there 120 minutes before a flight to, from, or through the United States.

Exceptions ( Mobile Check-in )

Kiosk Check-in

If you have all your documents ready, including those of the passengers on your booking, you can use a self-service airport kiosk to check-in. These kiosks are available at the following airports:

International Airports:

Los Angeles, San Francisco, Gold Coast, Queenstown, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Fiji Nadi, London Heathrow, and Tokyo Narita.

Domestic Airports:

Auckland, Queensland, Christchurch, and Wellington.

If you’re flying on a codeshare flight, which means it’s operated by a different airline, you need to check in at the counter of the airline that is actually operating the flight.

At Airport Check-In

If you’re going to the airport to check in, make sure you arrive early. This will give you enough time to finish the check-in process.

  • You should arrive at least 30 minutes before your domestic flight to New Zealand.
  • For international flights, make sure to arrive at least 90 minutes before departure. However, if you’re flying to/from/via the United States, arrive at least 120 minutes before departure.
